Alberta Health is undertaking a review of continuing care regulations that are expiring in 2017. The regulations under review as part of the Nursing Homes and Home Care Regulations review include the:
– Nursing Homes Operation Regulation;
– Nursing Home General Regulation; and,
– Co-ordinated Home Care Program Regulation.
To inform the Nursing Homes and Home Care Regulations review, we will be hosting open houses across the province. These discussions will give us an opportunity to learn from individuals and to share information. For each discussion:
The Home Care Regulation will be discussed during the morning (9 am to 12 pm). Discussion will focus on:
- The basket of services provided in home care;
- Home support services such as housekeeping and home maintenance; and,
- Meeting the needs of caregivers.
The Nursing Homes Regulations will be discussed during the afternoon (1 pm to 4:30 pm). Discussion will focus on:
- Care providers;
- Eligibility;
- Social and leisure activities; and,
- Meal requirements.
Please share this invitation with your members and encourage them to take this opportunity to provide their feedback and hear from other stakeholders by joining us for one of the planned open houses.
